What you are getting
YouTube Desktop is an independent third-party application that displays youtube.com in a desktop window with extra convenience features. The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
Relationship to YouTube
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube LLC or Google LLC. "YouTube" is a trademark of Google LLC. Use of the app is also subject to YouTube's own Terms of Service (youtube.com/t/terms), which govern your use of the YouTube content the app displays.
License
You may install and use the app on personal devices you own. You may not redistribute the signed installer outside of links provided by us, modify the binary, or attempt to reverse-engineer it for the purpose of redistribution.
What you must not do
- Use the app to scrape, parse, or download YouTube content beyond what YouTube itself permits
- Use the app for unlawful purposes or in violation of YouTube's terms
- Attempt to circumvent advertising shown on YouTube
Updates
The app downloads and applies updates automatically. If your installed version is below our minimum supported version, the app will refuse to start until you update.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of YouTube account access, data loss, or service interruption.
Changes
We may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be announced on the app's landing page.
